Plate too full!!

You know that feeling, having way too much to do and nowhere near enough time to do it! lol! Well, that's me right now! As much as I scrapbook, and would love to do it all the time, I do have a "day job"! I am an instructor, and for the last 9 years I have been selected to be a presenter at our national conference in July. It's a great experience but it's a lot of work! At the same time every year I am working like mad to create materials for the conference and it takes me away from all the fun stuff! It's also been birthday central around here too, it seems like every weekend there is a celebration! At least all this makes for fun pictures, right?!

"Birthday Central"

So, what all this means is that I had to take some time off from teaching classes! I have moved all of my May classes to June to give me a breather and to get the creative juices flowing again! I have my projects in my head and partially prepared but nothing done enough to share, but I promise they are coming.

Well, the sun is shining and I have to get out in it!! First to wash my monster Suburban and then to relax and recharge by the pool!! Ahhhh, summer...

National Scrapbook Day and Upcoming Classes

Wow, it's been awhile since I posted anything!! I have been busy finishing up classes at Strictly Scrapbooking and Pinecone Press for April. But now it's May and on to a new crop (ha - pun intended!) of classes! Look under Upcoming Classes for all the dates and projects under Strictly Scrapbooking. This week:

What does everyone have planned for National Scrapbook Day? I usually miss all the festivities because it always falls on a "birthday" weekend! This year we are going Go-Kart racing for my Godson's 13th birthday!! I will be taking gobs of pictures of course, and I will definitely get some scrapping done. So many crops and sales going on!! lol!! Maybe it's a good thing I am booked already!!

I have the Princess layout on my desk right now so I will be posting that very soon. I found a really nice layout on Becky Fleck's PageMap site, so now I am on track!! (I will probably use the same map for a soccer layout in June!!) It is not a Disney princess theme, although I am using the Disney princess paper. I am using rhinestone swirls from Prima, flowers and ribbons, and more rhinestones, and maybe some tulle if I can find the right color! The Mickey Mouse layout is going to be so fun! I got a Cricut! Yeah, finally!! So I have Mickey's all cut out and ready to go!! The mini book at the end of the month is a little 4 x 5 chipboard book. Samples for all are coming soon!

BOOKCLUBBERS
I am waiting on the additional stamp set to be delivered. When I was there the other night the stamp had just been delivered but needed to be packaged so I couldn't take ours with but was told they would be shipped. I will let you all know when they arrive.

Be sure to do something fun and scrappy on Sunday!!

Happy National Scrapbook Day!!

Discovered a great website

Look who just got on the bus! lol! I have heard of Becky Fleck and Page Maps for awhile now but never actually saw her sketches. Wow! I always sketch my layouts first, it's really helpful, especially if you do a lot of layering and use multiple printed papers. Becky's sketches are awesome, you have to check them out! If you ever get stuck with what you want to do with a layout, visit Becky's website for some inspiration! http://www.pagemaps.com My upcoming Happy Birthday (or Celebrate, I haven't decided!) class is inspired by one of her sketches. She also has a book of sketches, but the website has them in PDF format if you want to download and save in a binder! When Becky Higgins came out with her very first Sketches book I used it so much that the pages started to fall out and the corners were all curled! lol! Loved it!

Hmmm, maybe it's a "Becky thing"!?!

Scrap something this weekend!! And bookclub'ers, don't forget your acrylic albums for next week!! I guess I should get to work on mine too!! lol!

BTW, did you notice that the sample pictures are side by side?? I did it! It wasn't easy but I finally did it with HTML code <- yikes! So now I am happy so I can go back to scrapping!!

Always more later...

Well, I finally did it!!

Well, I said I would do it so here it is! My Scrap blog! It's such a work in progress, I am pretty lost trying to set up all the little add ons but I am getting there little by little! Bring on suggestions! I want to add an event calendar to list my classes but I am having a little trouble, but like I said - I'll get there! My schedule is currently listed in the upper corner for now. :) I also need to change the name!! lol!! I couldn't think of something fun at the time but that's going to change for sure!! Maybe I will have a little contest - Name my Blog! Let me think about what I can come up with for a prize!!

This blog is going to be all about my scrapbooking. I want to be able to share my upcoming classes at
Strictly Scrapbooking and Pinecone Press. I have all kinds of ideas for classes in the future! Definitely coming to Strictly Scrapbooking will be a "Mickey and Friends" layout, "Princess" layout, "Loves of My Life" heart mini book, and a "Happy Birthday" layout.

I look forward to your feedback and ideas to make this better!
